Freedom House is honored to announce a generous $100,000 JUBILEE grant from the Norbertine Community of St. Norbert Abbey.

“The Norbertines care deeply about the needs of our local community,” Abbot Radecki said. “We are happy to partner with Freedom House to support their goal of getting homeless families back on their feet.”

Freedom House has been dedicated to disrupting the cycle of homelessness and housing instability for families in need through faith and dignity, helping them embrace self-worth and obtain stable housing.

“We are humbled by the generosity of St. Norbert Abbey,” said Freedom House Executive Director Jennifer Schmohe. “Abbot Radecki understands the complex nature of homelessness and this JUBILEE gift will help hundreds of families navigate the difficult journey to stable housing and independence. When we met with the Abbot to accept this gift, he spoke about how much he cares for providing shelter and basic needs for struggling families. It reminded us of how much the community cares and how grateful we are for St. Norbert Abbey’s commitment to ending homelessness.”

This generous donation is part of a special initiative by the Norbertine Community celebrating the 900th anniversary of the founding of the Norbertine Order in France by St. Norbert of Xanten in 1121. The Norbertine Community is awarding annual JUBILEE grants of $100,000 through its Augustine Stewardship Fund over nine years, starting in 2021. These grants support non-profit organizations locally and internationally.
